Privacy and cookies
In short: this site uses no cookies, does not profile you and shows no ads. It counts visits in an anonymous, aggregated form, to understand which pages are read and where visitors come from. That is why there is no banner to accept.
Visit statistics
Visits are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, the tool of the service that hosts the site. It uses no cookies and no other identifiers stored on your device.
For each page view it records: the page address, the referring site, the device type, the browser and operating system, and the country, derived from the IP address without storing it.
To tell visits apart within the same day it uses a code computed from the request data, which is discarded within 24 hours: visits on different days cannot be linked together. I only see aggregated numbers (visitors, page views, referrers), never the individual person.
With Vercel Speed Insights, in the same way and without cookies, the site also measures how fast its pages load (loading times and page stability), together with the page address, device type, browser and country. This shows whether the site is slow, and on which devices.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used in order to improve it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If you do not want to be counted, an ordinary browser content blocker stops these scripts.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., which like any server receives technical connection data (IP address, browser, time of the request) and uses it to run the service and protect it from abuse. Vercel acts as data processor; transfers to the United States take place under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Details: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Preferences saved in your browser
Some choices you make in the Codex (theme, Wall density, card format, Chronology options) are remembered in your browser’s local storage (localStorage), so you find them again on your next visit.
They stay on your device, are not sent to anyone and are not used to recognise you. You can delete them at any time from your browser settings by clearing the site’s data.
External resources
Fonts, images and scripts are all served by this site: the pages load no content from other domains, no social widgets, maps or embedded videos.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction or erasure of data concerning you and object to processing (Arts. 15–21 GDPR). The statistics, however, are anonymous: in most cases there is no data traceable to you to view or delete.
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, such as the Italian Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
